It is a little coarse, but it has a nice random cable pattern. The sheath is hand made out of moose hide. We added a little twist of .020" nickel wire to give it a little sparkle. ZOOM in on the blade to see the pattern. Brass guards, and carved buffalo horn for handles. The sheath is cowhide stretched over a wooden core. It took 43 hours to complete the knife, and about 5 for the sheath.
